Linescape forms part of a series of miniature yet significant studies on the disappearing links between nature and human space, efforts to rekindle this and how climate change is fighting its way through. Penny takes some imagery from early work on city structures and reinterprets them.

Cuttings of buildings and structures are placed and interwoven, each to create a version of the modern city, tall and thin, with a feel that they are physically joined, though also linked by the energy the exude.Torn, scratched and generally distressed to form elements that jar the eye, as the slick modern city is cut apart.
