Women in their urban worlds
Territory
Started in the mid-1980s this inspiration of the artist's
own time in the city looks at both women's insularity
in the dog eat dog world of work,
using photocopied photographs of fashion mannequins
as a starting point, repeated or in sequence,
to evoke natural transformation.
Images are worked, printed and hand re-worked
several times with traditional art processes
taking place in between.
Use of painterly textural worked approaches with tactile qualifies manifests intangibility and
depth of human emotion.
Repetition of image in slick, glossy and even shiny, metallic or reflective print surfaces evokes the technological age.

The Writer Communication beyond words or cultural language. Created using hand collaging, pastel drawing, image manipulation, printing, further hand sketching and final reworking in Photoshop

The forms of words, thoughts, feelings and moving, adjusting, forever editing forms of our minds. A fascination with the beauty of lettering, which takes on an ambiguity beyond the meanings of the written word.

Secluded in the privacy of her own thoughts and feelings. The positivity and specialness of these moments is evoked with rich, dark and mysterious tones. The words, through the lettering more obscure but with a heightened understanding only for the person within.

Beyond Words
Authenticity in Communication
The world we project through verbal and written communication is set against our body language,
micro-expressions and how our unique energy field or aura
all show our authentic selves through those barriers.
